BAMBA — Berks Area Mountain Biking Association

Overview

BAMBA (Berks Area Mountain Biking Association) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the first IMBA-affiliated trail chapter in Berks County, PA. They coordinate volunteer trail work, host weekly group rides, manage ongoing trail projects, and serve as the primary community hub for mountain bikers across the Reading area. Their website is how members find rides, how sponsors discover them, and how years of trail-building work gets documented.

The Problem

The existing site was on a legacy platform with a renewal deadline on the horizon — good reason to make a move. The site wasn't mobile-friendly, had no CMS, and no way to update news or projects without a developer. Every content change required going back to someone who could code. The deadline meant there was no time for a phased migration. The new site had to be ready before the old contract lapsed — or the organization went dark.

The Solution

The entire site was rebuilt from scratch in under a weekend — volunteer work, no charge, done because it needed to be done. Thirteen pages covering everything the organization runs: events and rides, news, current and completed trail projects, volunteering, sponsorship, membership, and the full history of who they are and what they've built. The BAMBA team got a full CMS — news articles with images and categories, project galleries with photo and video support, and a historical archive of completed work by year. The team can update everything themselves, without touching code or calling anyone. The architecture was designed to support a future e-commerce layer for memberships and merchandise without requiring a rebuild.

The Outcome

Migration completed before the deadline. Zero downtime. The BAMBA team now manages all their own content — no back-and-forth, no developer dependency. The volunteer hours saved by the CMS alone are measurable every single month. A community organization that needed a lifeline now has a much improved mobile platform they can actually own.
